New Design

My girls have been playing with beads for about a week now. They keep begging to make something out of my stock of beads. I have to keep reminding them that they need to come up with a design because not everybody likes jewelry as eclectic as they do.

My Hazel girl came up with this fun design.

This was so much fun.
And it's a great way to use my abundance of pony beads.

They spin over the top of the other beads.
And they act as a magnifier.
What do you think? Would you spend your whole day spinning beads?

Beautiful and simple in design. Thanks for the inspiration.

Splurge on myself

With all of the excitement going on around here with my kiddos and the constant falling of snow (yes, even today), I haven't been feeling very creative.

Took my tall girl on a date last night and splurged on some beads for just me and I love how they turned out that I just had to share.

Hopefully this is the beginning of some more wonderful creations.

The tags say "dyed imperial jasper green lentil". Nice and smooth and the verigated colors are amazing.

The tag says "sapphire Australian jasper".

I have a thing for Jasper in case you didn't know. Can't wait to wear them out and get some thoughts on them.

I have missed you all while I've been drowning in my northern Wisconsin winter. So glad to see all the robins around. Counted 39 on one patch of grass this past Sunday on our way home from church.

Under Construction

This is the topic for this year's girls's retreat at church. I have been invited to hang out with them again. To inspire them, to get to know them better, to bring my Spiritual Gifts and use them to the best of my ability. Which is exactly what I've been training in Women's Ministry so far this year.

The topic inspired me. I wanted to do something low key, low cost, and cool. This is what occurred to me.

The cost of thread is a little lower than wire. I thought this might make for a good start to a bracelet. Or...take one of the jumprings off and hang it on a necklace. What do you think?

This one is my Worry Stone style necklace. My tall girl asked me to make her a new one because someone stole her's at school last year. I like it so much that I might keep it and make her a different one.

This was my initial thought. To make a Worry Stone with two ends and then string a bracelet of some sort off of the two ends. It didn't turn out as wonderful as I thought it would. What do you think?

Which one says "foundation"?
The topic of the talks is going to be on building yourself a strong foundation.
Which made me think of the stones I have.

Would you or your teen wear such an idea?

Thanks for all of your feed back. I have under two weeks to get my mind wrapped around what Gift I'm bringing to the retreat.
